“Don’t let your character change color with your environment. Find out who you are and let it stay it’s true color.” Rachel Scott
Ok, Ok . . . yes – I color my hair!!! Not drastically, but to add some of the vibrance back. I have always loved my red hair, and I haven’t enjoyed seeing it lose the lustre. It’s just turning kind of a blah brownish color – I guess in preparation for the grey hair that must be ready to pop out any time! I shall do what I can to delay the inevitable however.
Even if it means that I look like an alien while doing it . . .
“We find delight in the beauty and happiness of children that makes the heart too big for the body.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
She has the most beautiful eyes, and dark curly hair. She doesn’t easily smile for my camera, but she laughs out loud with a belly laugh that would make any Santa proud!
She loves to snuggle, and plays her little 2 year old heart out. She constantly will ask “Mommie (or Ya Ya for me), what doing?” When you tell her what you are doing – she repeats it verbatem . . . ie: I’m driving to the store. What are you doing? “I driving to the store.” Three minutes later – same question – same answer – same response!
She takes great joy in just about everything. When she doesn’t, she gets a sour look on her face and says “I no like it!” She will cross her arms on her chest and turn away from you to emphasize her point! I take great joy in everything she does! (yes – even the messes . . . everything can be “fixed”!)
“Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.” Stanley Horowitz
We have several huge Katsura trees in the back yard. They are luscious green in the spring and summer, and an absolutely stunning orange/yellow/red in the Autumn. They are at their best right now. Stunning.
The Katsura tree is a very distinctive landscape tree known for its delicate leaves and bright autumn colour. In autumn, the heart shaped leaves smell of burnt sugar when crushed, and the tree turns bright yellow, pink, and orange-red. The botanical name is Cercidiphyllum japonicum.

I picked out some dahlia tubers at the local nursery in the spring, and planted them in a nice sunny spot. They seemed to start off slowly, but suddenly I look out and here is this massive flower on one of the plants! It’s just gorgeous . . . I just love it when my garden surprises me like this . . .
