“Take baby steps and don’t give up! Keep moving in the right direction. Trust yourself and your abilities. Just because something didn’t yet work out as planned, doesn’t mean it won’t work out. There is always a way and you can’t lose unless you give up.” Kemmy Nola
I watch this little girl and her determination in everything she does. “I do it myself” she says about everything. And if she’s not doing it herself, then “I helping”. She keeps at it until she conquers whatever it is she attempting . . . even if it’s just putting a sock on her foot or opening a door . . . quite amazing to observe. Was I ever like this – so determined to achieve, determined to conquer all? As a child I don’t really remember, but as an adult when I want something, there is nothing that can get in my way. If something does, I’ll find a way around it. I seldom just give up.
I love seeing that determination in a 2 year old!
“If you want to conquer fear, don’t sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” Dale Carnegie
I set my D7000 on timer and let it shoot away. This was the best of the bunch, as I was heading off to the airport to pick up my sister who is flying in from Whitehorse, Yukon. I love the timer feature on my camera(s). It makes doing this 365 so much easier. My only challenge is focusing. To do a shot like this I have to guess where my focus is and hope that it turns out sharp, not blurry. I was trying for the panning effect in the background as I was rounding a corner at the time. And it looks like I was fairly successful with my focus this time. I did process it a bit in LR4 and Topaz Adjust.

I love where I live, and I love this time of year.
The days are getting shorter and soon we’ll be complaining about how cold and wet it is. For now, this is what I get to enjoy every evening looking out on my back yard. You can just see the leaves starting to turn on the Katsura tree, but everything is still so green and beautiful.
It’s my second favorite season to Spring.
“The possession of knowledge does not kill the sense of wonder and mystery. There is always more mystery.” Anais Nin
I’m falling a bit behind in my 365 . . . so am playing catchup. I am playing around with focusing on my D800 and the 105mm lens. It’s not as easy as it might seem! I managed to get the leaf on the plant in great focus . . . so decided that I’d add a bit of texture (Kim Klassen “tapededge.jpg) to create a bit of mystery . . .
